Tasked with updating and developing new reception standard, this project presented unique opportunities. I wanted to leverage this client's technical prowess and bespoke manufacturing capabilities by focusing on modern design that would favor their attention to detail.
Introducing naturally directing forms and opened shapes, these designs offer unique statements as the first-look visitors see when they visit the locations these would be. Intended mixed materials add visual draw and appealing textures that are inviting and refreshing. Optional integrated lighting elements add visual levity and softness to the geometric forms.
These images are the brochures that I created from renders of this project.
Jofco InForm is a mobile, reconfigurable training and conferencing table system. The tables are collapsible, nesting and integrated with wire and data management.
The focus of inForm revolves around the table. The cast aluminum legs are the centerpiece, allowing strength for the cantilevered worksurface, the integrated wire management trough, and the joining accessories. The legs are also designed for nesting the tables when the tops are collapsed, further economizing space.
Delving into the multi-faceted use of modern work environments, inForm is flexible to accommodate these uses, facilitating ease of configuration, mobility, and communication.
InForm's presentation accessories echo the function of the tables, allowing mobile solutions for communication, brainstorming, and media solutions. They are casegoods built to compliment and maximize the system, enforcing the intent of the design. This system was a "Best of NEOCON" entrant in 2006.

This was a passion project. In the summer of 2015, I was initially approached to do some livery designs for 949Racing. Their goal was to present to Mazda USA some of their ideas for an ‘enthusiast themed’ build of the new Miata for SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show 2015.
I felt it would be a game changer to elevate their ideas through photorealistic renderings, including 949Racing’s iconic orange competition colors. When shown to the client, they were floored. It sparked more collaboration to model custom aerodynamic pieces, their latest patented wheel designed especially for this car, custom roll cage, and accentuated interior pieces.
When 949Racing presented these renderings to Mazda, it created a deeper relationship between the two companies. Mazda was impressed by their commitment and effort and it brought them to the forefront.
Little did I know that these concepts would inspire a special, limited edition version to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Miata’s release 3 years later in 2019.

Developmental conceptual sketches illustrating a variety of seating concepts for the mass market. These concepts were designed for big box retailers with overseas manufacturing and sourcing.
A variety of price points represent distinct consumer targets. These concepts were designed to incorporate sound, storage, and connectivity technology with upholstery and simple frames. The primary focus was fun, ergonomically-correct designs that worked with the user in postures they preferred while participating in gaming activities.
Some of these concepts were developed further, sampled and presented to retail buyers for production.
Office seating concepts for the commercial, contract furniture industry. These were developed for specific manufacturers and clients according to their manufacturing abilities and product line requirements.
Working with Armstrong flooring products, this concept was born from a need to accommodate a variety of shopping environments but still convey a unique message and experience to the consumer within the Armstrong brand. These products often have to compete with other displays from competing brands in the same environment, therefore drawing and keeping the interest of consumers while offering a quality feel is imperative.
This concept is a modular, scalable design in both height and width. The design is intended to be quickly assembled, durable, and have available accents to up-sell the display, experience, yet allow refresh updates to stay on point with the quickly changing home flooring trends. This extends the life cycle of the display system and create future opportunities to upgrade.
Flooring samples can be unwieldy and awkward to handle. The need to have enough variety so the consumer can visualize the patterns within their desired space is critical. This display begins by using flat vertical space to display rich, associative lifestyle imagery. The interactive touchscreen allows for quick searching by category and style, further accompanied by additional imagery and informative textual content.
The physical samples are displayed by category in ways that not only highlight specific trends, but also allow the consumer to browse and retrieve them easily. The waterfall displays angle downward to conserve depth space, but also expose the samples to be easily identified. Using smaller width samples allow an alternative waterfall display to incorporate the same visual techniques, but allowing double the SKU count.
Alternately, the hanger-style sample display increases SKU loads, but also relates to the consumer as a fashion shopping experience. The connection was to enforce the Armstrong brand as a premium, fashion-forward product for the home.
The display carts create addition SKU opportunities and a mobile platform for transporting multiple samples to centralized collaboration space where the consumer can gather samples to be viewed and discussed with sales staff and designers.
Simple signage above mark the brand while accent lighting demonstrates the products in the best possible manner.
A sample of concepts that encapsulate my range as an industrial designer. Their focus ranges from task to lounge seating, office to residential, but each has its own specific constraints derived from research, manufacturing, engineering and function.
This concept is Intended to appeal to the A&D specifiers, it offers a unique architectural styling with highly functional elements to address conferencing and meeting solutions within a business environment.
