How I succeed
I design looking for patterns. Not aesthetic patterns, really, but behaviors and actions that seem random, unnatural, or overlooked. Patterns are how people interact, it is in their behavior, so I beginning there a path reveals the problems to solve.
I apply an intrinsic, simple style approach. Some say the devil is in the details and I believe this to be true. I am inherently analytical and have learned from my approach to design the simplest solution that solves the issues. I relish deceptively simple designs that are exceedingly complex below their appearance. The key is in the execution.
Implementing simple, effective designs requires knowledge, teamwork, and a humble attitude. I believe in interdisciplinary input for any design to be effective. More important, I recognize when contributors have greater insight and knowledge and value their experience above my own.
